May 1 has historically been National College Decision Day. However, delays in the federal financial aid application process have caused many universities to delay their deposit deadlines. Some colleges pushed the deadline to May 15, others like Baylor University have extended it to June 15.

But not every school played by the same rules, leaving families confused and frustrated. Let’s hope the kinks in the FAFSA application get worked out so 2025-2026 financial aid packages are communicated to families in a timely manner. For many students, the aid packages is key to making their decision.
